The Houston-based, internationally-acclaimed and award-winning production company, Texas Roadhouse Live, has announced production of the fifth in an ongoing series of live broadcast events. Austin's unique Old Settlers Music Festival featuring Texas music legend, Robert Earl Keen, will be broadcast live through a two-way feed to our Armed Forces in Iraq on Saturday April 18th, 2009 at 11:00pm. In addition to the live broadcast, Texas Roadhouse Live will produce a delayed broadcast for the Armed Forces Network featuring other performers at the Old Settlers Music Festival including the renowned Cajun artists, Beausoleil, and special guests.
The broadcast will feature a live two-way communication between a group of Texas National Guardsmen stationed in Iraq, Robert Earl Keen, and festival goers. A real-time video feed will be projected onto a screen adjacent to the main stage showing the troops as they watch the festival performances. Robert Earl Keen will speak directly to the troops during his live performance. Additionally, the troops in Iraq will be able to see and hear the crowd in Austin, Texas. “It is like an open window where the brave men and woman overseas fighting for our freedom can see their homeland and hopefully experience a taste of things they’re missing,” said Jason Esparza, producer for Texas Roadhouse Live.

The broadcast is made possible by collaboration between Texas Roadhouse Live, DIVIDSHUB.NET, the US military, and the Old Settlers Music Festival. This event is sponsored by H2Ocean and Ocean Aid, manufactures of earth friendly natural skin care lines that use sea salt and enzymes to enhance the body’s immune system. Coming from a military family, Eddie Kolos with Ocean Aid would like to wish all the soldiers good health and safety during their time abroad. “Events like this would not be possible without the help from companies like Ocean Aid and H2Ocean who have continued to support the troops despite being a small business in tough economic times,” said Jason Esparza.

Two prior Homeland Salutes, "Live from Sturgis 2007” featuring Eddie Money, Tanya Tucker and SlowRide, as well as "The Love Ride hosted by Jay Leno” featuring The Tubes, the Foo Fighters and ZZ TOP have received top honors at international film festivals.  Awards have been received at multiple industry competitions, including the Telly Awards, the Worldfest International Film Festival and the EMPixx awards.

"Texas Roadhouse Live will continue to show our support for our armed forces overseas by producing future shows from major stateside events in the US,” said Alan Ames of Texas Roadhouse Live. We are proud to offer this service.

I feel honored to salute the troops that secure our freedom and safety in the United States of America. We have responsibilities to pay attention more to the people around us and help when we can. My friends and family have always fought for freedom and democracy. The stories I have heard from all my Veteran friends and family makes a mark in my heart and I will never forget them. So I say give a little because what they have already given to us is more then anyone can imagine. Every experience I go through has taught me to give chances and takes chances. Life experience teaches us to give and then you will receive.  This works if you surround yourself with trusting people.

Our company is proud to give and to thank every soldier. I hope that this Salute to the Troops will help lift morale and let the soldiers know that we appreciate what they are doing for America.
