Brandon was born on the small island of Perdido Key in Florida. He began his artistic endeavors as a result of the encouragement of his amazingly supportive parents. He spent almost all his time as a child playing music and drawing. The growth of his abilities eventually carried him to College in Texas where he studied Fine Arts. It was at this point in his career when he first picked up a tattoo machine, and set down his musical insturments. This was an experience that forced a dramatic change in his life. He immediately began tattooing all of his friends and got some of his earliest pieces published immediately. Brandon went to school in Texas during the weekdays, tattooed at night and drove all the way to Florida every weekend to tattoo at a small shop in Fort Walton Beach. Compulsive workaholism continued for the next decade.
It was also in Texas that Brandon did a formal apprenticeship for all facets of sterilization, tattooing, piercing, scarification, body suspension, and branding under the close supervision of Shaman Bear. After completing his apprenticeship and school, he set out on a mission to explore the medium of tattooing and the lifestyle that the art form affords. The onslaught of traveling began and the nationwide touring commenced.
Brandon moved immediately to Las Vegas where he tattooed on Las Vegas Blvd. He began flying to New Hampshire and getting huge amounts of artwork from his tattoo artist and friend Joe Capobianco. Brandon then moved onto Seattle where he worked at Slave to the Needle with Aaron Bell and began touring doing tattoo conventions with Damon Conklin. Brandon then relocated to New Orleans and worked at Electric Ladyland Tattoos. After Mardi Gras, the tour continued to Panama City Beach Florida where Brandon embraced the chaos of Spring Break.
Brandon returned to the tattoo convention circuit where he met Deano Cook, of Atlanta, GA. Brandon relocated to work with Deano at Psycho Tattoo in Marietta, right outside of Atlanta. After working with Deano, Brandon continued doing conventions and becoming increasingly well know for his artwork. It was at this point that Tattoo Savage magazine, Tattoo Revue magazine, and Skin Ar t magazine all published interviews and pages of artwork from him. His artwork has been featured in over 300 international tattoo arts publications, and he has been interviewed and published more than any other contemporary tattoo artist in the world.
Brandon Bond was voted “ARTIST OF THE YEAR” in 2006 by his peers and fellow tattooers at the North Carolina Tattoo Convention. Brandon is now tattooing exclusively by appointment only in two studios in Northwest Atlanta and is booked about 3 months in advance with a 200 dollar deposit required and a three hour minimum.
